Congrats on being named as one of the recipients of the 2010 Lavender Certificate! As you know, I loved The Sublime and Spirited Voyage of Original Sin. From the award committee:

The Lavender Certificate: This award is given to an author who, in the committee’s opinion, has written the best “maiden” or first novel in the previous year. The award is rather modest in that it is merely a certificate and a gift of a $50, which we suggest be used to be used for a celebratory dinner out. This award is merely a token of encouragement and a note to encourage the writer and say, “Well done!”

And congrats go out to the other winners of this award, D.L. Line and Carsen Taite.

The Alice B. Reader award went to JM Redmann, Catherine Friend, and Kate Sweeney. A rather impressive showing for Bold Strokes Books, if I do say so myself

  Why, thank you! I must say I was quite surprised to hear from them. It came right out of the blue... but it's made my week suck so much less than usual.
